Yugioh -- The Multi Dimensions, by Sharxfan20
In recent years, the development, complication and perhaps questionable direction and course of the game we know and love has become increasingly composite and multifaceted. The many dimensions of the game have and continue to expand; a single sided, uniform game is what began. Today's article discusses what the game of Yu-Gi-Oh was like in its embryonic stages, how the shift of ownership has affected the game, and what the multidimensional game of today is like, and conceivably, what the direction of the game is headed towards in the near future.

New Series and a New Episode of Protips for BKs!
I was just wondering how many people would be interested in a series of videos dedicated to Quickdraw Plants and other Quickdraw variants. Quickdraw is my favorite card right now, and I just feel it deserves more attention.
I'm also announcing the return of Pro Tips for BKs. In my next episode, I'm going to be discussing conflicting cards in detail. There are way too many people who have been playing this game in a very linear way and will not step outside the box. As a result, they have remained simply casual duelists. A perfect example of this would be people who don't understand how you can run Pot of Duality in Light Sworn or X Sabers and to a further extent, Royal Oppression in Gladiator Beasts.
Let me know your thoughts, leave a comment below.

Top 8 Regional Decklist - Yusei Hime v2
I went 7 - 1 in swiss and lost in the top 8. My deck performed flawlessly, but I would still like to continue to tweak it with Pot of Dualities. This is what I ran:

New Nationals Invite Structure
4-49 - 4 invites
50-99 - 8 invites
100-149 - 16 invites
150-199 - 24 invites
200-299 - 32 invites
300+ - 48 invites
No Pass Downs
While it may be tougher for now on to get your invite, consider this. Nationals will more than likely be filled with higher caliber players, thereby increasing the value of actually getting your invite.

Gencon and Yugioh...The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly! part 2 - The Bad
Previously, I wrote about the wonderful things about this game and the event I attended. I wish that I could say that everything was all gravy baby, but I cannot. I must first apologize for taking so long to post part 2 of this story, but I was seething with so much anger, I wanted to craft my words carefully.

Gencon and Yugioh...the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly! part 1 - the Good
I was gonna make a video about this but it would cause such an uproar so I decided to comment about it on my blog. To protect the innocent (and the not so innocent) I will not use names.

GenCon Indy!
Team DKF!!! is booked and ready to go to GenCon. We are staying at the Ramada Inn near the airport. We don't know our way around the city so we are looking for some fellow players to help us out and to chill with. We'll post a video up once we get to the room and we'll probably invite people over for some testing.

10,000 Subscriber Special and New Collectable Item
I'm 900 subs away from 10,000 subscribers. I am working on something really incredible for the special. When I first started this yugitube thing, I always tried to be different and innovative. I can guarantee that my 10k sub video will be something you (probably) haven't seen before. I will be performing a spoken word performance called, "The Ballad of Don Zaloog - Part 1." This will be the 1st video in a series of the tale of Don Zaloog and the Dark Scorpions. I'll give you a sneak preview:

Why I Make Crazy Decks...
I get asked this question often. “Dubkdad, why bother making crazy decks, when you have the cards available to you to make any deck in the format?” My answer is simple and two pronged.

Is Yugioh still fun for you?
Personally, I still love the game, but I am getting really fed up with Konami making broken archetypes with GODLY amounts of support cards.

YCS Chantilly - Yugioh Premier Event
WTF?!? Machina Gadgets...really? I LOL'd IRL when I read about Machina Gadgets winning the 1st YCS after all of the hype behind XX Sabers and Infernities. Who would've thought that a $45 deck would wreck decks costing at least 4 times as much?

Where are the Videos?!?!
Sorry guys, I've been super busy these last few days. I've been working extra hours because we are moving soon. I plan on uploading a couple of videos in the next few days. Let me know if you would still like to see my Frog OTK and Koa'ki Meiru decklists. I'm also working on Randomness #11 - Hater Bob and Steve Returns, just gotta finish up the editing. That video will be released when Randomness #10 hits 8000 views. Next, I would like to thank everyone for 7700 subscribers. Never could I have imagined that there would be so many people out there who would like my channel. I will continue to try and provide entertainment for as long as I'm able to.

Engineering a Competitive Deck: The Fundamentals and History of Yu-Gi-Oh! by iamsixxy
I'm going to be doing my next few articles on Deck Building and some of the fundamentals/ideologies you should be aware of when deck building. The six cards you draw maybe a lot more important than the remaining thirty-four in a match-up, but you want to build your deck in a way that will consistency give you a beautiful opening six. A lot of this may be second nature to some but I still see a lot of people failing in this critical department.

Yugioh - Get the Machina by PNcollector
With the first month of the format coming to a close several different decks have emerged in popularity earning a place to form the new metagame. There are: Blackwing with there future support in Shining Darkness, the adapting Gladiator Beast, and the not to forgotten Lightsworn Deck. Several other notable decks such as Infernity, X-Sabers, and Flamevell/Hamster variants have begun to do well in the format, but fall short due to the lack of unreleased sets and over priced cards that would allow players to truly exploit there potential. Compared to all those decks, there is one that has caught my attention recently. The Machina Deck.

Yugioh - Themed Duels to be renamed Yusei Format! (updated rules v1.2)
Yusei Format Deck Construction Rules:
Side-Decking & Preparing for SJC Edison 2010 by IAMSIXXY
In the seventh installment of his "Pro Tip For BKs", dubkdad1 gave you a brief overview of some of the best cards to consider when making your side deck. The cards he mentioned were, "Jinzo", "Breaker the Magical Warrior", "D.D. Crow", "Legendary Jujitsu Master", "Nobleman of Crossout", "Soul Release", "My Body As A Shield", "Soul Release", "My Body As A Shield", "Trap Stun", "Mirror Of Oaths", "Trap Hole", "Starlight Road", "Dust Tornado", and "Royal Oppression". Yugioh - Themed Duels
Getting tired of seeing the same thing over and over again? Well starting this weeked, I am going to begin presenting duels featuring decks you may not have even considered running because of all of the bustedness running about. Consider this: If you remove all of the busted, over powered limited and semi-limited cards from the card pool and are forced to play in the same fashion they play on the Anime, this game would be so fun too play. I'd be really interested to see how you all feel about dueling using this idea.
Themed Duel Deck Construction Rules:
1) Decks must have a theme or be based on an archetype.
a) competitive themes are not allowed: LS, BW, GB, or Monarchs.
b) examples of themes are Aliens, Plants, or Dinosaurs.
c) Decks designed to summon Nomis are allowed but the "Nomi" monster must be ran in threes.
2) Decks are to be constructed using the current Advanced Format with the following additions:
a) Limited and semi-limited cards are not allowed.
b) Cards that have a comparative effect for your chosen theme must be used over the "generic
card. Example: Sakuretsu Armor/Dimensional Prison = Geminis have Justi-Break and Frogs
have Froggy Forcefield.
More details to come as the duels develop.

A Challenger Appears!!!
So now everyone wants to run Synchro Cat! OMFG! Just when I spent all of last format perfecting the deck... There are many ways run Zhe Cat:
Standard Cat
- See summer of 2009 decklists...
Chaos Cat
- Sorc, 2 Cyber/Oracle, rykos, etc
Flamvell Cat
- Flamvell Firedog/Magician, rekindling, cat engine
and my favorite
Hamster Cat
- Super-Mega-Awesome Nimble Hamster, rykos, whirlwind weasel (yes, I said it!)
I've noticed that many people have decided to drop Dark Armed Dragon and Sorc in these builds because dark counts are low and they want to keep rekindling and PoA live at all times. Also, with the loss of 1 Allure of Darkness, the need to run darks just isn't there. People are also arguing theor-i-oh about which support/floater engine is best.
Both camps run the Flamvell Engine. Some like GK Spy/Descendent, while others like Hamster. The spy users argue that Hamster is too passive, relying on an attack to get a useful ryko/airbellum. Where as spy doesn't get killed by opposing firedogs and can make for more reliable Arcanite plays. Hamster users argue that even without an attack, a flipped hamster followed by the summon of Flamvell Magician makes for a level 8 synchro backed up by a ryko. You can make up your mind about which is best.
I have decided to mix the two camps. I figure, why be tied down to one engine when you can get the best of both worlds.

Yugioh - Expected Meta for 3/1/2010
The evolution of Blackwings! With the loss of 1 Blackwing Whirlwind and Allure of Darness, many people are saying that the archetype is unplayable. I would argue that the deck is not dead, just in a temporary COMA until the The Shining Darkness! I think that with the aid of Treasure and the new monsters, the deck will regain its poplularity, power, and speed. For now, when playing the deck (if you are brave enough to continue using it) you'll have to play the conservative game. Use your Whirlwind searches wisely, save that icarus attack for when you need it, just incase you don't draw another monster, etc. A few things the deck has going for it are:
- It is still has the best matchup vs Gladiator Beasts.
- It can play around royal oppression better than most decks.
- Icarus attack is still the best "themed" removal card in the game.
- Lightsworn only has 2 honest!
- Can side into Skill Drain and Dimensional Fissure
All of this may be a no brainer, but my point is DON'T GET RID OF YOUR BLACKWING STUFF JUST YET!!! Make sure that you at least keep the annoying cards to find like Blizzard, Vayu, and any foil upgrades like Whirlwind and Icarus Attack. Trust me, you'll thank me in a few months!

Deck Lists on my Website!
By popular demand. I will begin keeping a compendium of decklist that I have created. They will be located on my website which can be found HERE under the subtitle of Deck Compendium. Mainly found here will be my fun decks and crazy ideas that have been presented on YouTube. At a later date, I will add a section containing decks that I have worked on for other people or decks that I toyed around with at one time. I hope you enjoy.

Yugioh - Expected Meta for 3/1/2010 part 2
Like it or not, Light Lords are definitely NOT DEAD! Like most top decks in past formats, this deck has evolved immensely. The deck has lost many key cards:
2 Necro Gardna
2 Charge of the Light Brigade
2 Lumina
1 Honest
The average player would think that would enough to kill the deck type, but to seasoned players like our team and dedicated LS players the banlist has opened up slots to be filled with cards that previously were filled with staples. Think about it, the loss of 7 cards that were part of the back bone of the deck can now be replaced with "tech" that can fully support the deck and allow it to do things that it couldn't reliably do in the past...MAIN TRAP CARDS! Since the deck is not turbo milling now, be on the lookout for cards in the main you are not used to seeing in competitive builds of LS:
Mirror Force
Trap Dustshoot
Solemn Judgement
Bottomless Traphole
Call of the Haunted
Royal Oppression
Torrential Tribute
In the past those spots were taken up by monsters and beckoning light...Now those once harmless bluffs in the backrow are now serious threats. I'd also like to add that LS should now be refered to as Twilight because in my opinion Gale, Chaos Sorc, DAD, Gorz, Trago, even Phantom of Chaos are staples in this deck.
Next time we'll go into the evolution of Blackwings. This should be fun!

Yugioh - Expected Meta for 3/1/2010 part 1
Welcome to another new format in Yugioh! Just as in every new format, there will be tons of experimentation and tons of people falling back on old favorites. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that meta will be GBs, LS and BWs for the next month or so. Lets discuss some reasons why I feel this way.
Gladiator Beasts -
Since Konami felt the need to utterly destroy all of the previous draw engines and advantage engines in the game (ie allure, ddraw, CotLB), GBs now have the capability to keep up with anything this meta throws at it. I can forsee defense heavy builds packing trip Book, dprisons, and smashing grounds putting in a lot of work. I think these builds will forego Prisma in favor of pure GBs with rescue cat to make Secutor or Samnite live at the most opportune times. This will mean low monster counts with trip Proving Ground. It's really a shame that mind crush got limited because now the slowest deck of last format now has the best tutor in the game.
Any deck that has to set monsters or runs Battle Recruiters are going to get destroyed. This is the reason that Grave Keepers, X Sabers, and other that need time to set up are not going to do so well. Many people just don't remember how dominant GBs were right after Dark Armed Return was killed. Even with one Bestiari, Gyzarus Spamming is quite easy and savvy GB players will always have a book of moon or My Body as a Shield to prevent Besti from getting bottomless'd.
Finally, in order to beat glads, you are going to need a strong side deck. I would suggest Mirror of Oaths, Royal Oppression (if you aren't maining them already), and Dust Tornados. Royal Decree won't do much to stop Book of Moon and it also lets Besti put in major work with no fear. I'm going to test Malevolent Catastrophe because so far, every GB player i've faced turtles up behind 2 or more s/t per turn after Heavy Storm is played.
Next time, we'll discuss my reasons that Lightsworn will STILL be a pain in everyone's ass this format.

B.S. Alert!!!
Unfortunately, our locals waited to long to order product for the sneak peek... So we are looking for ways to obtain a sneak peek playmat for our case bust. This also means, that we won't have access to the new promo or other cards right away. If you get ahold of any GK Priestess' or other GK cards, let me know...I'll trade good for them, as well as the sneak peek mat.

What happened in Vegas was supposed to happen in LA!
So this is what happened:
There was heavy fog cover at LAX and the plane we were on was on a holding pattern for about 30 minutes. The pilot announced that we only had about an hour's worth of fuel left and he couldn't wait out the fog. So he announced that we would be flying to Las Vegas to land and stay overnight until the weather cleared up. Had we chosen a better grade of carrier it would not have been a problem as higher end carriers have the avionics to land in zero to near zero visibility.
Once we landed in Vegas, they kicked us off the plane and told us where our luggage was going to be located and that we would be delayed until 8:30 the following morning. Mind you, we had arrangements made for Thursday night and we nothing about Vegas. We arrived there so late in the evening that there were no terminal facilities open and we were forced to eat chips and soda for "lunch/dinner". It was a harrowing experience for sure, but at least we got a free trip to Vegas, right?

SJC LA - Party over here!
With overwhelming force, I have been persuaded to attend this event. I am so happy to be going and I'm very excited to meet everyone there. I just found out that I have a Grandfather that lives in LA who owns a restaraunt called, Bless Tropical Jamaica Quisie. They serve seafood and other carribean cuisine there so it is gonna be some good eating! Anyone interested in going should hit me up while I'm there. I can definitely tell you that there will be good footage if you bring a video camera. You'll get to see how silly aznpersuasion2008 and I act when we are just chilling out. You can even name your video, "Chillin with DKF!!" like the series of videos on our Team Channel. Again, I hope to see many of you there!
