Why, Why, Why?

I am just wondering why Konami decides to make some Archetypes more playable than others.  There are so many interesting Archetypes out there: Koa'ki Meiru, Psychics, Dark Scorpions, etc, but Konami just gives them half ass support or totally forgets about them.  In Extreme Victory, apparently Psychics are getting new support involving the RFG mechanic, but if they don't include ways to quickly fuel that mechanic specifically for that Archetype, it will again be another half assed piece of support.  Let me know what you think.

  1. I have a list of the deck I'm going to use when Extreme Victory comes out. I think Psychics are VERY good. It's just that MANY people make the wrong builds. If you want the list, I got it.

  2. I know how you feel, I've been collecting Koa'ki Meiru since raging battle and I'd say that they are a ROTA away from being a top tier deck.

Meanwhile X-sabers and now Six Samurais get amazing/broke exclusives when they are already good, meanwhile other archetypes need that sort of support just to be playable at tournament level!

  4. I dont like that they bring out crap Support for old Archetypes, I mean thats about as good as bringing out no support, I know Blackwings have alot of good support but have you seen it recently? its awful, there is absolutely nothing I can do with most of this new "Support".

  5. Phantom beasts!! I want to see them become an actual archetype, not just the 7 or so cards that exist.

and I am also a personal fan of kao'ki meiru.

  6. Well, I guess it's just luck of the draw. Konami has been doing a lot to see more decks be more competitive. Unfortunately it is difficult to make every deck competitive without ending up with a bunch of decks with similar tricks. What I agree with though is how annoying it is when they print out absolute crap like the new blackwing "support". Makes me wonder if all good ideas just come from some guy who had an epiphany while on an acid trip. With the bad support being the general crap he spits out.

  7. Agreed.

My biggest grudge with Konami is that they release an archetype, give it some support, and then forget it exists for several years.

At least I have Steelswarm to look forward to. They'll be getting a lot of support.
